So, the good news: the new chapter is with the Editing Gang and should be out by next weekend (unless a rewrite is needed.)
Bad news: As it stands, it ends on a cliffhanger.
I need to write the Shepard-Liara scene, but I want to do it the right way, since it is going to be a critical thing. And as I may have pointed out before I am not a female so I want advice and feedback on how to proceed before I do so.
The semi-good news is I will try to have that chapter done before Christmas. We’ll see.
Almost 20k words. The chapter after this is when Liara and Shepard re-bond, and that’s about a third done.
The goal is to get at least a couple more chapters out then work on Lions in Blue and Silver. We’ll see how that goes.

The next chapter is at 16k of FLUFF and AWESOME and the Editing Gang is arguing fiercely at how much of a simply useless hack writer I am, so it may be a few more days before they finish tearing it apart and making something better from it.
Ahern is cursing at them to go faster, though.
You’ve probably already noticed the chapter updated on the 30th of August. Another chapter (currently at 15k) is with the Editing Gang now in heavy edits, and the chapter after that (3k) is being worked on.
Xabiar (of the X-COM Files) is working on a new document, and so is Jacob, to finish out his outstanding work on the Volus. I’ve also finally got the outline done on the next Tech Guide chapter — and wonder of wonders, maybe even an update to Lions.
We’ll see.
It took a bit longer than I would have liked, but I finally got it done.
I’ll be pretty busy the next few weeks, but I hope to get one more chapter out (6k so far) and most of new Volus and Drell material going.
As for the new chapter, well… did you really think it would be that easy to be rid of krogan Dr. Doom? LOL.
I finally got the next chapter to the Editing Gang, albeit a week late. I strongly doubt it will be ready by Christmas (although certainly by New Years.)

The next chapter of TWCD is with the Editing Gang. I need to add a couple of excerpts and have a final check for tone and all that by the gang.
The problem being I’m stuck at work today!
I would hope I can get the chapter wrapped up, edited, and published with bad ellipsis by tomorrow, sometime after church.
I’ve done a … really shaky history draft for the drell and I am working on volus biology. Once biology is done, Jacob has done a lot of the rest but at least one piece would need re-writes.
In other news my health is better, although I’ve had more family drama that’s been distracting me to some degree. Shouldn’t affect the work.

In case you didn’t know, the Editing Gang has slowly and carefully been helping me fix my abuse of punctuation and eliminate derp assisting me in rewriting the original OSABC.
We’re up to chapter 38 now (32: Shepard and Liara). There is a thread on the forums that will usually cover any major structural changes.
TWCD still being worked on by the Editing Gang as well, with a planned ETA of late Sunday evening for publication. The chapter after that will probably be out before the heat death of the universe.
