How powerful is degenerate matter (ex. Neutronium) when employed as weaponry? How powerful is a kilogram or even a gram of it?

Pretty powerful. Although…you can’t really measure it by the gram.
Degenerate matter weapons are on the high scale of damage, as they cause severe impact damage, huge temperatures, radiation, and inflict several thousand G’s at detonation.
There are three degen-matter weapons. Neutronium flex explosives, like the Kyle class torpedo, and operate primarily by re-expansion of the neutronium and destabilization of local space time due to intense gravitic distortion.
Quark-degenerate devices, which use a pile of collapsed-string quark strange matter. Anything this weapon hits tends to undergo a shift from normal to strange quarks… which tends to reverse the strong nuclear force of the object hit. You can imagine what that does.
Finally, electron degenerate implication beams, which cause instant collapses of matter waaaaaaaay beyond the Bose-Einstein limit. This basically instantly pushes the target beyond the Chandrasekhar limit.
Yes, it’s basically a black-hole generator.

But the resulting back hole is temporary right?

Very temporary, it only lasts about fifteen or twenty seconds. After that it dissolves in a titanic blast of Hawking radiation…that would probably kill anything within a few miles.
The natives of this cycle can figure out neutronium flex explosives. The Inusannon and Tho’ians primary weapons were NFE missiles and quark degenerative blasts or torpedoes.
Electron degenerate implosion beams were the main weapon of the Leviathans, and Lethath was their inventor and has been tinkering with them.
The Darkness effectively uses anti-muon beams (which unbind quarks…and turn whatever they hit to dust) and force-phase transition weapons, which convert matter to energy and then use the energy to shift the state of nearby matter to gas.

Spinoff question that I’m not sure how to word.
How does the darkness use those weapons?I mean does the darkness have ships, or do the beings themselves move through space like the Ascended and shoot anti-muon beams at things with their more formidable version of godpower?
For that matter can you see the darkness or only see the insanity-inducing effects around them?
